One thing I did notice, which may or may not be normal, when I place the switch on the underside of the mouse to 'ON' I would have expected the optical light in the mouse to come on even though it hasn't yet been recognised by the dongle - my mouse doesn't do this and seems totally dead even after using two sets of batteries.
